Who is it suitable for?
This qualification aims to meet the needs of a range of trainee teachers, such as:
- individuals not currently in a teaching or training role
- individuals currently teaching and training (including those who have just begun teaching and training)
- individuals currently working as assessors who wish to achieve a qualification that provides an introduction to teaching
The objective of this qualification is to:
Prepare learners for employment and support them to progress to a teaching role within the workplace. It has been developed for those intending to work in the post-16 education and training sector.

- Facilitate learning and development for individuals
- Facilitate learning and development in groups
- Understanding assessment in education and training
- Understanding the principles and practices of assessment
How many credits are required to complete it?
This qualification requires 12 credits.
How is it assessed?
There is a requirement to undertake observed and assessed practice in a real work environment
How long does it take to complete?
You can usually complete it in 4 weeks.
